Our drift boats are outfitted for comfort and function. Two anglers fish from the bow while the guide controls the boat from the oars, positioning you for the best presentations. You'll stop at productive runs, pull over for lunch on a gravel bar, and move through water that wade anglers simply can't reach.

Drift boat trips are available on the Yellowstone River, Bighorn River, and Clark Fork of the Yellowstone. Your guide will recommend the best river based on current conditions, hatches, and your goals for the day. Whether you're throwing dry flies to rising trout, nymphing deep runs, or stripping streamers along the banks — the drift boat puts you in position.

Dry Fly, Nymph, & Streamer

Dry Fly Fishing

The drift boat excels at dry fly fishing. Your guide positions the boat upstream of rising fish, giving you the perfect angle for a drag-free drift. During summer hatches — PMDs, caddis, hoppers — dry fly days from the boat are as good as it gets in Montana.

Nymphing

Indicator nymphing from a drift boat is one of the most productive techniques on our rivers. The guide slows the boat through deep runs and seams while you work a nymph rig through the strike zone. Effective year-round and especially productive in spring and fall.

Streamer Fishing

Stripping streamers tight to the banks from a moving drift boat is the way to target the biggest trout in the river. The boat covers water efficiently, and the angle of the retrieve along structure is ideal. Best during low-light conditions, cloud cover, and fall months.
