Spring Creek Lodge

No Pressure, Private Water

Spring Creek Lodge has 4.5 miles of private spring creek, reserved for its guests. The Flagship Lodge, the Montana Fly Fishing Lodge property near Absarokee, has a separate spring creek of half a mile. They are two creeks, on two properties. The half mile is not part of the 4.5, and the two are not added together.

Both are spring-fed, so they stay clear when Yellowstone Basin freestone rivers are high and off-color in snowmelt, especially mid-May through mid-June. Guides also arrange days on DePuy's, Armstrong's, and Nelson's in Paradise Valley. Those are not the lodge's water, and they are not part of either mileage.

The No Tellum program is additional spring-fed water with very little fishing pressure. It is not given a mileage here, so it is not added to the 4.5 or the half mile.

We have access to several private spring creeks in Paradise Valley, including DePuy's, Armstrong's, and Nelson's creeks. These waters limit daily angler numbers and require a rod fee. Private Ranch Ponds

Access to several private ranch ponds and small lakes in the area. Stocked with a variety of trout species, some growing quite large. Streamer fishing, nymphing, and dry fly opportunities. Well suited for technique work, a quieter pace, or introducing newer anglers to fly fishing.

Why Fish Private Water

Private waters offer quieter, more focused, less pressured fishing. A great option during runoff when freestone rivers are high. The consistent flows and clarity of spring-fed water maintain productive fishing when other waters are less predictable. Often the highlight of a multi-day trip.
