Bighorn River Lodge

Bighorn River Fly Fishing Lodge is a tailwater property in the Confluence Collection family, set near Fort Smith, Montana, on the banks of the Bighorn River — a tailwater fishery famous for its consistent flows, dense insect hatches, and some of the highest trout-per-mile counts in the country.

Jeremy DeVries founded the lodge in 2022, after 30 years guiding the Bighorn River. What began as a passion for fly fishing on Montana’s legendary rivers has grown into one of the Bighorn’s most respected outfitting operations, built on experience, hard work, and a genuine love for the outdoors. It’s a working riverfront lodge, not a satellite operation: guides who live on the Bighorn spend their days scouting it, from the spring hatches through fall streamer season, so when conditions shift or fish move, they’re already there. That day-in, day-out familiarity with the water is what sets a stay here for our Montana Fly Fishing Lodge clients apart from other lodges and operations on the Bighorn River.

The belief behind it is simple: great days on the water start with great people and great service. Anyone can book a guide. What makes a stay here different is the experience itself, measured less by fish landed than by the stories shared in the boat, the anticipation of the next cast, and the friendships built along the way.
