Meet the Team
The People Who Shape the Experience
Montana Fly Fishing Lodge isn't a big operation — it's a small team of people who care deeply about this place, the rivers, and the guests who visit. Every member of the team brings something essential to the lodge experience.
Lincoln Powers
Founder | The Lodge Legend
A Navy veteran with a 35-year software career that started at Microsoft in the '90s, Lincoln founded a healthcare software company, sold it, and then pursued his true passion — building Montana Fly Fishing Lodge from the ground up on his family's generational land in the Stillwater Valley. Fourth-generation Montanan, he designed the lodges, developed the fishing program, and built the relationships with landowners and guides that make the operation possible. His vision: an authentic Montana experience that feels like home, not a resort. Every guest leaves with a great catch, a heart full of stories, and if they're lucky, a tall tale or two from Lincoln himself.
Judi Powers
The Judi Standard | Reel Mastermind & Culinary Queen
Judi dedicated 32 years to medicine — starting as a Registered Nurse specializing in pediatric critical care, eventually rising to CEO and Executive VP at healthcare organizations across the country. In retirement, she continues mentoring aspiring leaders while running every detail of lodge operations. From signature dishes like her legendary crème brûlée to guest accommodations and the thousand small touches that make a stay seamless — if it's done right at the lodge, Judi had a hand in it. As skilled in the kitchen as she was in the boardroom, and probably even better at diffusing a tense situation with charcuterie.
Dani Willcoxson
Guest Experience | Lead of Guest Delight
Originally from California, Dani relocated to Montana after high school and now calls Absarokee home. As Lead of Guest Delight, she manages the guest experience from first inquiry to final departure — but what sets Dani apart is the personal connection. She learns about families, hobbies, and the small details that turn a good trip into an unforgettable one. Her infectious enthusiasm means she's constantly present throughout the lodge, getting to know each guest and making sure every need is met before anyone has to ask.
Danny Hanson
Property | The Maintenance Maestro
Danny can fix a leaky faucet faster than a trout can snatch a fly. He keeps the physical property in top condition — from lodge maintenance and grounds work to vehicle prep and equipment care. The kind of behind-the-scenes work that guests don't always see but absolutely feel. When he's not wrenching, Danny pursues white-water adventures and backcountry pack trips with his three kids. Just don't ask him to teach fly fishing — that's one skill he's happy to leave to the guides.
Maddie Britt
Guest Experience | Massage Magician & Wellness Expert
Born in Bozeman and drawn to Absarokee for the small-town living and mountain access, Maddie handles everything from trail recommendations to post-river coffee service. As a Licensed Massage Therapist, she brings a wellness dimension that elevates the entire stay — helping guests unwind after a long day on the water and reminding everyone that this trip is about restoration as much as adventure. Off-season, you'll find her rock climbing, chasing wildflowers, or traveling the world. Need a story, some TLC, or a smile? Maddie's got you.
Andrew "Andy" Evanson
Operations & Guest Experience | The Connector
Andy is the bridge between the lodge and the river. He coordinates guide schedules, manages logistics, and makes sure every guest is matched with the right water and the right guide for the day. His deep knowledge of the region's rivers and his easy rapport with guests and guides alike make him indispensable.
On the Water
Our Guides
Local Knowledge
Our guides live and fish in south-central Montana year-round. They know these rivers — the hatches, the flows, the seasonal patterns, the spots that don't appear on any map. That local knowledge is what turns a good day into a great one.
All Skill Levels
Whether you've never held a fly rod or you've been fishing for decades, our guides meet you where you are. Patient instructors for beginners, experienced partners for advanced anglers. The goal is always the same — put you on fish and make sure you enjoy the day.
The Right Match
We take care to match guides with guests based on experience, personality, and fishing goals. Some guests want a technical challenge. Others want a relaxed day learning the basics. Your guide is chosen to give you exactly the experience you're looking for.
"What struck me most wasn't the fishing — it was the people. Lincoln, Judi, the guides — everyone genuinely cared about making our trip special. You can't manufacture that kind of hospitality. It comes from people who love what they do and where they live."
